Michael D. Leffler is a graduate of Marquette University (B.S. 1985) and Marquette University Law School (J.D. 1988). In law school, he was awarded the Grace Holznecht Scholarship in recognition of outstanding achievement. He was involved in student government and had the honor of representing his class as he worked closely with students, administrators, and professors. After law school, he started his career with a well-respected insurance defense firm in Racine. He soon recognized his preference was for helping the injured, not fighting them. He took a position as an associate at Daniel P. Kondos Law Offices, a personal injury law firm in Milwaukee. After a decade serving the personally injured, he co-founded Action Law Offices, S.C. with Attorney Steven C. Gabert in 1999. Today, there are three Action Law Firm offices in Wisconsin. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Marquette University Club of Milwaukee and on the Board of Directors for the LAO Family Community Center in Milwaukee where he also served as interim Chairman of the Board. He has lectured extensively to high school students and community organizations on the various aspects of the law. Attorney Leffler is currently a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association, Racine Bar Association, and Washington County Bar Association. He has served on the mediation committee of the Milwaukee Bar Association. He was formerly the President of the Racine Bar Association and served as a member of the Board of Governors. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wisconsin Association of Justice. He has been admitted to practice law in all courts in Wisconsin including federal district courts.
Attorney Patrick M. Bertrandt graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (B.S. 1999, magna cum laude) and was the recipient of the Socratic Award granted by the University of Oshkosh Philosophy Department. Attorney Bertrandt then received his law degree at the University of San Diego School of Law (J.D. 2002). While in California, Attorney Bertrandt worked at the San Diego Superior Court as a mediator resolving disputes between small claims litigants. In 2002, Attorney Bertrandt took the Wisconsin Bar Examination and was admitted to practice law in this state. He began his practice as a general practitioner representing clients in criminal, family, and real estate matters. In addition, Attorney Bertrandt has also consulted on implementing a successful dispute resolution mechanism for Ford Motors Corporation. In 2006, he was elected chairperson for the Wisconsin Young Lawyers Division and represents the interests of lawyers and the community both in Wisconsin and throughout the country. He presently focuses his practice on representing the interests of victims injured in accidents. Attorney Patrick M. Bertrandt is a member of the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, and Wisconsin Bar Association. He has also been admitted to practice law in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Western District of Wisconsin, and all other state courts.
Attorney Steven C. Gabert is a graduate of Marquette University (B.A. 1983) and West Virginia School of Law (J.D. 1986). He is admitted to both the West Virginia Bar and the Wisconsin State Bar. He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps in 1983. Following law school he served to the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps where he practiced as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer. After TBS at Quantico, VA he attended Naval Justice School (1987-Honors) in Newport, RI. He then continued his military service at Camp LeJeune, NC where he represented Marines and Sailors facing Special and General Courts Martial as well as pre-deployment legal services for Marines. Since completing his active military service in 1990, his focus has been accident cases; concentrating his practice on representing the personally injured. He practiced as a trial attorney for 10 years as an associate at Kondos Law Offices in Milwaukee, WI until he co-founded Action Law Offices, S.C. with Attorney Michael D. Leffler in the Fall of 1999. Attorney Gabert is one of America's Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, Wisconsin Association for Justice, and the West Virginia and Wisconsin Bar Associations. He has been admitted to practice law in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, United States Eastern District of Wisconsin, Western District of Wisconsin, and all other Wisconsin courts. He is a member of the American Legion.
