The doctors practice a complete spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and facial trauma. The doctors are all board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery and collectively offer over 80 years of clinical experience.     Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

    Dr. John D. Triggs attended the University of Iowa for undergraduate studies in Biology and Business. He remained at the University of Iowa for dental school where he earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Following graduation, he went on to complete a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. During his residency, he received specialized training in anesthesia, medicine, and the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Triggs enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with a particular interest in dental implants and bone grafting. Dr. Triggs is Board-Certified and a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, Greater Milwaukee and Washington-Ozaukee Dental Associations. Dr. Triggs is continually participating in continuing education programs to provide the most up-to-date and quality care for his patients. He belongs to multiple study clubs, including the Milwaukee Dental Forum, with area dentists to discuss complex treatment cases. He is also the Director of the Third Coast Study Group – a chapter of the Seattle Study Club – with 30 area dentists and specialty members. Dr. Triggs is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Marquette University School of Dentistry. He lectures to the third-year dental students in their Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery course. Dr. Triggs is on staff at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital, Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee Campus and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Triggs is an Iowa native but enjoys calling Wisconsin home. He and his wife, Maria, like to travel, cook and spend time by the Lakefront with their children. He is an avid sports fan and regularly attends Brewers, Bucks and Packer games.

    Dr. Judd C. Smith attended the University of Minnesota where he completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry while playing football for the Golden Gophers. He went on to attend Marquette Dental School and completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Dr. Smith then moved to Columbus, Ohio where he completed his four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at The Ohio State University. During his residency, he received specialized training in anesthesia, medicine, and the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Smith is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, Greater Milwaukee, and Washington-Ozaukee Dental Associations. Midtling is originally from the Twin Cities, MN, and attended the University of Minnesota where he completed both his undergraduate studies in chemistry and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After dental school, he completed a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, followed by a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After finishing his internship, Dr. Midtling stayed at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed a four-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2019. Dr. Midtling is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, and Greater Milwaukee Dental Associations. After finishing dental school, Dr. Waligora completed a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery and then a four-year residency program in 2020 in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Waligora is Board-Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, and Greater Milwaukee Dental Associations. Dr. Waligora participates in continuing education programs to provide the most up-to-date and quality care for his patients.     During his time in residency, he received extensive training in dentoalveolar surgery, ambulatory anesthesia, implantology, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, and maxillofacial reconstruction. Dr. Bertagna is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Internal Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Chalmers J. Lyons Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Growing up, Dr. Bertagna spent his summers vacationing in southeast Wisconsin and is excited to be calling the area home.
