Dr. John Triggs

Dr. John D. Triggs attended the University of Iowa for undergraduate studies in Biology and Business. He remained at the University of Iowa for dental school where he earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Following graduation, he went on to complete a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. During his residency, he received specialized training in anesthesia, medicine, and the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Triggs enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with a particular interest in dental implants and bone grafting. Dr. Triggs is Board-Certified and a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, Greater Milwaukee and Washington-Ozaukee Dental Associations. Dr. Triggs is continually participating in continuing education programs to provide the most up-to-date and quality care for his patients. He belongs to multiple study clubs, including the Milwaukee Dental Forum, with area dentists to discuss complex treatment cases. He is also the Director of the Third Coast Study Group – a chapter of the Seattle Study Club – with 30 area dentists and specialty members. Dr. Triggs is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Marquette University School of Dentistry. He lectures to the third-year dental students in their Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery course. Dr. Triggs is on staff at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital, Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee Campus and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Triggs is an Iowa native but enjoys calling Wisconsin home. He and his wife, Maria, like to travel, cook and spend time by the Lakefront with their children. He is an avid sports fan and regularly attends Brewers, Bucks and Packer games.

Dr. Judd Smith

Dr. Judd C. Smith attended the University of Minnesota where he completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry while playing football for the Golden Gophers. He went on to attend Marquette Dental School and completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Dr. Smith then moved to Columbus, Ohio where he completed his four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at The Ohio State University. During his residency, he received specialized training in anesthesia, medicine, and the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Smith is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, Greater Milwaukee, and Washington-Ozaukee Dental Associations. Dr. Smith is also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. Dr. Smith is on staff at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital, Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee Campus and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Smith, his wife Bente, son and daughter enjoy spending time with friends and family. He is an avid sports fan and his free time usually involves watching Big Ten Football, traveling, fishing, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Dr. Matthew Midtling

Dr. Matthew J. Midtling is originally from the Twin Cities, MN, and attended the University of Minnesota where he completed both his undergraduate studies in chemistry and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After dental school, he completed a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, followed by a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After finishing his internship, Dr. Midtling stayed at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed a four-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2019. Dr. Midtling is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, and Greater Milwaukee Dental Associations. Dr. Midtling participates in continuing education programs to provide the most up-to-date and quality care for his patients. He belongs to the Third Coast Study Group – a chapter of the Seattle Study Club – with 30 area dentists and specialty members. Dr. Midtling has a particular interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, benign pathology, outpatient anesthesia and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Midtling is on staff at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital, Columbia St. Mary’s – Ozaukee Campus and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Midtling enjoys traveling with his wife and children to favorite destinations like Disney World, Arizona, Colorado and Door County. In their free time they also enjoy hiking, biking, golf, tennis and finding the biggest playgrounds the kids can handle.

Dr. Bret Waligora

Dr. Bret M. Waligora is originally from Alpena, MI, and attended the Lyman Briggs College of Michigan State University where he completed his undergraduate studies in Human Physiology. He went on to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry to complete his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After finishing dental school, Dr. Waligora completed a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery and then a four-year residency program in 2020 in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Waligora is Board-Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American, Wisconsin, and Greater Milwaukee Dental Associations. Dr. Waligora participates in continuing education programs to provide the most up-to-date and quality care for his patients. Dr. Robert Wallock is a highly esteemed oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over three decades of experience. Graduating as valedictorian from Marquette University Dental School in 1990, he completed his residency at Gundersen Medical Foundation Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Dr. Wallock has been a trusted figure at Elmbrook Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for 33 years. Renowned for his patient-centered approach, Dr. Wallock has earned accolades and certifications, solidifying his status as a top-tier practitioner. He is excited to continue his full-time practice at the Brookfield and Menomonee Falls locations and bring his expertise to benefit a wider patient base as part of the Milwaukee Oral Surgery & Implants team.

Andrew E. Bertagna, DMD

During his time in residency, he received extensive training in dentoalveolar surgery, ambulatory anesthesia, implantology, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, and maxillofacial reconstruction. Dr. Bertagna is Board-Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Internal Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Chalmers J. Lyons Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Growing up, Dr. Bertagna spent his summers vacationing in southeast Wisconsin and is excited to be calling the area home. He is particularly looking forward to exploring all the abundant outdoor activities the greater Milwaukee area has to offer.
